Varrock on the first RuneScape server (World 1) is the home of the free-to-play marketplace. Although not prescribed by RuneScape's creators to be the trading hub of the RuneScape world, hundreds of players crowd the centre and west bank of Varrock to buy and sell their items at all times.

You can start the Demon Slayer, Romeo & Juliet, and Shield of Arrav quests, and also the members quest Gertrude's Cat in Varrock.

Varrock can be found in the kingdom of Misthalin and nearby is the cooking guild and a new member's mining site.

South-west of Varrock are the South-west Varrock mines, often used for their iron and silver. Just south-east of these mines is the Champion's Guild. It sells some high-level armour to warriors and rangers and is also where the quest Dragon Slayer can be started. However, you must have acquired at least 32 quest points to enter.

South of Varrock lies a stone circle guarded by dark wizards. Players often come here to kill dark wizards, as they tend to drop runes.

South-east of Varrock lies yet another mine which is frequented by lower level miners as it contains large amounts of copper, tin and iron.

Members will find Monkey Boy in central Varrock, who will advertize the Dragon Scimitar after completing the Monkey Madness quest.
